Vote no on the contract
One year later
I Voted No on the contract because I thought it was a raw
and bad deal. Some said Vote Yes so we could get back to
work and start making money on all the shows we were missing
out on.
The Yes Vote got it and the fight was over. We went back
to work ? What work ? Most of the Pilots were taken over by
Aftra. Even though I am a dual card member I am vested in
Sag and not Aftra like most Actor's are.
The same people who either got elected on the Sag Board of
Directors who said Vote Yes on the contract along with the
other members who were already on the Board who also
supported the Yes vote, I ask, are you all happy that most of
the Sag members who were working Sag jobs now are split
and have to think of either joining Aftra which has raised
their fees or not joining Aftra and working less or fight to
try and get rid of the idiots who got elected and created this
mess and are now thinking of bringing back the Merger fiasco
which has been tried over and over again and not made it ?
For me, I am doing the latter. I am not for a merger now
and never will be,(the main problem is they refuse to
consolidate the Pension and Health into one.)  Let's bring Sag
back to the members and get rid of those who sold us out.
If you are happy with the way things are now and how they
turned out from a year ago, then maybe you are not
interested in this. If your disgusted, angry and feel let down
by your Union Members who are bringing our Union down
then you need to do something now.

Next month I intend to pick up my Nominating Petition so I
can again run for Sag Office. Whether I make it or not is not
importan
t here but rather let everyone I talk to and
communicate with know why I am running.
Don't forget. SAG Elections are just
around the corner. I know that I intend
to run. I will have a list on here as
soon as I get it of who to Vote for
that is running and who Not to Vote for

Unions, SAG and AFTRA
are affecting Members.

Do you really want to merge with a union that is continually decreasing your rate?  Take a look at the rate
on this new AFTRA longform, GUIDO.  By the time AFTRA is done with us, we will be lucky to make
minimum wage.  And for those of you who have never had the frightful experience of working on a
Nickelodeon/AFTRA contract, let me just say that overtime is often LESS than the regular rate, meal
penalties are non-existent, and some shows rarely break you.  I've heard of numerous instances where
they shot 7 hours straight with no break and no meal!

Below is an article forwarded to me by a member of the
present SAG Board of Directors who is on our side and is
fighting to make sure SAG is not taken over by those who
employ us. If AFTRA and SAG were to merge who do you
think our Employers would negotiate with ? Of course they
would rather pay us the cheap rates that AFTRA would offer
them. To merge does not mean we would have more power to
bargain and negotiate with as One strong Union but a much
weaker one. The roles below are Principle Roles.
